The Divine Child

2026

The Divine Child gives form to the private conversation between the adult and child selves that coexist within us.

Rather than resolving their relationship, the book opens a symbolic, dreamlike space in which readers may revisit who they were, whom they have become, and what continues to live between those selves.

Conceived as visual poetry, The Divine Child begins with a neglected aspect of growing up: the adult self is often formed by silencing the voice of the child self rather than learning to recognize it.

The book asks what may become visible once both selves are acknowledged. Moving through emotional distance, confrontation, tenderness, and uneasy reconciliation, the book reveals the two selves as divided yet inseparable.

The Divine Child deconstructs the idea of a linear personal history. The inner child is not a former self left behind, but an inseparable presence within adulthood.

Selected Spreads

Rather than literal depictions, the adult and child selves emerge through recurring figures and bodily symbols. They form meaning across the sequence, creating an internal space shaped by fragmentation and association.

Book Structure

Exposed-spine Hardcover

The visible book block and protective case emphasize the relationship between interior content and outer shell.

Die-cut Pages

Two circular die-cut pages—one near the beginning and one near the end—crop and reveal adjacent images when turned. This allows the images to acquire different meanings through movement.

This interplay of concealment and revelation echoes the ongoing shifts between the adult and child selves.
